Ancient Greek comedy

Sneha and Asyia of the Lower Sixth Ancient Greek class have been practising their Greek accents in an audio performance of the first scene in Aristophanes’ 411 BC comedy, ‘Lysistrata’. Lysistrata has called a meeting of all the women of Athens, but only her neighbour Calonice has bothered to come. She has a plan to stop the war currently raging between Athens and Sparta by persuading the women of Greece to refuse the company of men and go on a ‘sex strike’. You can listening to the recording here, and follow the script and read a translation here.
